mine are anatomy and physiology for midwives (coad and dunstall) and myles text book for midwives (Not very broad but a good starting point for midwifery)
mayes midwifery is a good starting point, its very broad and covers all topics, however we were discouraged from referring to this book after the first year as its not very in depth
My essentials have to be Mayes Midwifery (I find it superior to Myles Midwifery), Anne Frye's Holistic Midwifery Volume 2 (the bible!), and Maternal, Foetal and Neonatal Physiology by Susan Blackburn. Varney's Midwifery is also good.
All of these books (and more, of course) are required reading for my midwifery programme at Birthwise Midwifery School in Maine. In case anyone's wondering why my spelling is UK-English when I attend a US school, the reason is that I'm the only foreign student there at the moment... and I don't speak/write American. ;) Hehe.
What books would you recommend someone to buy as a new student of midwifery? I am hoping to start in September but am unsure what books to get in preparation.
My life in midwifery academy is very boring because I don't like school in here.I school in here because make happy my parents.but actualy is very enjoyable.
