My daughter is expecting her second baby in November and was told she would need a c/section due to previous repair after her first homebirth. Her midwife did not fully repair her tear and she ended up getting repaired a few months later by a very anti-midwife doctor. He pretty much assured her she would split to kingdom come if she had another vaginal birth. I sent her surgical report to my own midwife who said she wouldn't have a problem helping her and she should do just fine. I agree, but my daughter has bought into the hype. Does anyone have any personal knowledge or experience dealing with vaginal birth after this type of repair. She healed well with no infection or complications. She had a second opinion but it was also with the Air Force and I think he just towed the party line and compared her repair to a classical c/section scar that could "rupture" at a moment's notice. However, I know even those ladies can have a vaginal birth.
thank you.
