Hi everyone. i am about to start my bachelor of midwifery at Uni SA and am very committed to this career choice, however my mother, being a nurse, thinks this is a bad move because she thinks its too much hard work for very little pay. Does anyone agree with this or do you find that the passion for the work greatly outweighs the income. I've researched alot about the salary of a midwife and i think its very acceptable especially seeing as i will be getting to live my dream of being able to help mothers and fathers through the beautiful thing that is child birth.

Hi Guys,
I'm a Bachelor of Midwifery student at VU in Melbourne, Vic and i LOVE LOVE LOVE it! For years I have had no direction and it is brilliant to have found a career that I am so passionate about! I am in awe of the femal form!

Hi All, Just wanted to introduce myself.........My name is Holly, i'm a doula, student midwife and homebirth mummy to my 18month old little man. I recieved an invitation to join here and thought it sounded like it might be a good place to learn from other experiences. Anyways, i'm usually more of a lurker these days, but look forward to getting to know you all. xox

I have heard about that, sounds wonderful! Are you nervous or used to speaking in conferences?
