Hi I have just joined midwives on-line, I have nearly completed my Access course and definately want to become a midwife. I had my interview for Canterbury uni which was horrendous. It was so obvious that they were going through the motions of interview and had alady made their minds up on placements. Needless to say I didn't get in. I was very dispondent at first but have re-applied toCanterbury to do Adult Nursing as another way in. Although I know this route will take longer. I am going to apply for a clearing space at Brighton and Greenwich and hope that will come up. Any advice would be great appreciated. Leanne

I think the worst things is coming home in the evening to all the washing!
When youre given breaks in between lectures, you'll need to make the most of that time to study because when you get home, there wont be much chance of that!

Hi, I'm also hoping to do voluntary work in a maternity unit. I'll apply for a midwifery course in London when both my daughters are in full-time school. It's gonna be hard juggling being a mum and studying but I really want to become a midwife!

Hi! I am a prospective midwifery student. I applied to Cardiff University this year, but did not get in. I am going to reapply for next year and in the meantime I am going to be doing some voluntary work on a maternity unit in a hospital by where I live.

Hopefully I get accepted next year, the feedback I had from the universities I applied for this year were positive!

Hi! I am a prospective midwifery student. I am currently a volunteer doula in Hull which has enabled me to support women giving birth. I am on a reserve list for entry to the midwifery degree at Hull University this year and am hoping to get a place for this September. If not, I will hopefully get a place for next year.

I will be having my second interview on 26th June 2008. I had my first last year on June 25th (the day of the floods in Hull!!) and I did ok, but only made the reserve list instead of an actual place. I just have to hope someone drops out now!
